More about these products

Quality results, superior performance

The printouts your printer produces are incredibly important, no matter what purpose they serve. Whether you’re printing precious family memories in gorgeous full color, important client-facing documents, or just the monthly household bills, the quality of your printouts makes a huge difference. Perhaps you require a printer capable of printing, copying, scanning, and faxing. Maybe you just need a black and white printer for academic projects.

Whatever type of printer you require, ease of use is inextricably tied to the printer’s practicality. After all, if you’re not sure how to use your printer, it’s going to impede your workflow and hold you back. Touch screen printers help make the settings on your printer more intuitive and convenient. See changes to your print jobs at a glance instead of using a frustrating guess-and-check method.

Touch screen printers help you better navigate your printer’s various options and help you avoid wasted time. Focus on what matters with a touch screen printer from HP®.

Intuitive touch screen performance

Your printer doesn’t have to be difficult to use, you can rely on a touch screen to guide you through the printing process from start to finish. Even if you’re just using your printer at home, you don’t want to be chained to your printer, spending all of your time trying to discern complex steps to get the printout you need.

A touch screen makes printing fast and easy, whether you’re at home or working alongside hundreds of colleagues in an enterprise. Big or small, the right HP touch screen printer can improve your productivity.

What printer specs should I consider?

If you’re shopping for a printer, you can quickly get lost in the technical specifications. What’s DPI? How do I decide on monthly duty cycle? What is enough memory for my needs? Here are some basic printer specs you may want to consider on your printer search:

    • Networking: Printers typically have a USB connection to use with one personal computer. However, many printers available on the HP Store site also have integrated wireless networking abilities like Bluetooth and ePrint, which can be used in a group of wirelessly connected computers. HP business printers typically boast an Ethernet connection, so it can function on a network.
    • Monthly duty cycle: A printer’s monthly duty cycle describes the maximum number of pages the device can print without failing under the pressure. For most printers, a duty cycle will average out to around 5,000 pages per month. A small business printer will top out around 20,000 pages. And printers designed for high-volume offices can boast monthly duty cycles of 100,000 or more pages. You can easily find an HP printer that matches your output needs.
    • Internal memory: The internal memory of your printer is measured in kilobytes (KB) or megabytes (MB). Printers will offer anywhere from 256MB to 1GB of RAM. If you have a big, busy office or print large files, you’ll want to invest in a printer with more memory that can handle those more resource-intensive print jobs. You may want to look into a printer’s maximum upgradable memory to ensure the model has the memory expansion opportunity to grow alongside your company.
    • PPM: Otherwise known as pages per minute, this number shows you how many pages your printer can produce in each minute. Make sure to pay attention to whether or not this number is for printing in draft mode or standard-quality mode. Draft mode is a less finished product but boasts higher printing speeds. Better quality printouts typically mean slightly lower ppm numbers. Ultimately, the print speed will vary based on the complexity of the printout.
    • First page out: The first page of any printout is going to be printed the slowest. After the first page is done printing, the printing will reach its normal ppm speed.
    • Dots per inch: Dots per inch (dpi) is the measure of how many dots the printer can squeeze into a square inch of paper. All dpi numbers are multiples of 300 or 360. So, an example dpi might be 1200 dpi or 1440 dpi. The higher the resolution of a printer, the better quality the final image or printout.
    • Input trays: The amount of paper your printer can take in a standard configuration should be more than the number of papers you print each day. A personal home printer might hold 100-150 sheets of paper. A business printer usually holds 250 pages while enterprise-level printers can handle 500-1000 or more. If your office is high-volume, you may want to invest in a printer with the ability to add even more input trays.
    • Multipurpose tray: This is a great feature to select if you have unusual media size you sometimes need to be printed, like envelopes or photos.
    • Duplexing: If you want to save money and time, duplexing is a great option. Duplex printing or double-sided printing allows users to cut their paper costs in half. It also means the final printed product is less bulky than if it were printed on just a single side of paper.
  • Operating system compatibility: Printers aren’t always universally compatible on Mac and Linux platforms although all work on PC platforms.
  • USB port: USB ports are important to have on your printer because they allow you to connect a flash drive or computer to print documents.
  • Media-card slots: Media card slots make it easier to print photos straight from the memory card of your camera.
  • Displays: Prefer a touch screen where you can more easily see and navigate the settings of your printer? A touch screen printer from HP is a good choice if that’s the case.

HP printers and print accessories

Behind every great printing device is a collection of printer accessories like additional input trays or HP ink and toner. Customize your office setup with the right tools so you can streamline your to-do list and hone your focus. When you invest in printing materials from HP Store, you can be confident you’re getting professional quality.
